Report COVID-19 and the right to adequate housing: impact and the way forward

 

The UN special rapporteur, Balakrishnan Rajagopal, presented to the 75th session of the General Assembly (15th September) his new report on COVID-19 and the right to adequate housing. The main point of this text was to underscore the right to housing as a fundamental right, as far as housing has emerged as a key defence against COVID-19. 

The Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing wrote this comprehensive thematic report (A/75/148) with short, medium and long term recommendations.  The report was developed on the basis of a call for inputs with States, local governments and civil society.
